Been into diy for a handful of months now, and right now I'm just mixing single flavor to keep things simple and to learn how they taste to me for when I decide to get into mixing multiple flavors. I have seen diy or die talk about general percentages to start at for most brands (5% for tfa Capella and some others). Right now I tend to check the comments on bullcityflavors and see what people are talking about, but I run into the issue of a few people saying a flavor is very strong and to only use it at 2% max, and others saying it's very weak and to use at 10-15%. While I am ok with making mistakes I would rather get as close to a good percentage as quick as I can to not waste time waiting on steeping and using more supplies. My question is where is my best source to see what people are saying about certain flavors and what percents are good in single mixes. As in find where people are talking about say Capella sugar cookie. I mixed my single at 2% as I was told it's stronger and while I do enjoy it it's hard for me to know based on just one source to know if it would be better at say 4%. Some flavors I hear get bad notes at higher amounts, but I want to know if (for example) I should mix sugar cookie at higher amounts, lower amounts, or mix in other flavors to pull out the best in it. Sorry for the long question I just want to know as much as I can.
