One of my greatest pet peeves is steeping a custard. Not knowing how it will turn out and if it gets too nasty having to throw out the whole thing.
So I thought it might be alright to skip the whole steeping process, not by the usual means, no magnet mixer, no heat, no nothing.
How could we do that then? By bending flavours to taste like a finished and well steeped custard.
So we know that the background of a good plain old custard is the buttery taste and almost a cake-y thing to it. Cream in the middle and vanilla all around.
So I took Wayne's "My Custard" and inverted it, more cake, less vanilla custard, low percentages and the chemical taste barely comes around and after only 48h of steeping we get a very good vanilla custard or as I called mine, Custard Stone.
Best yet is the fact that you can add almost anything to this stone as if it was just a composite flavour
